A security professional operating an x-ray machine at a courthouse checkpoint identified a firearm inside a backpack. She instructed the individual to proceed through the magnetometer, secured the backpack, and immediately surrendered the bag to the on-duty deputy. 

The individual who brought the backpack was identified and arrested on multiple charges. It was later found that he was under an active domestic violence protective order, which prohibited him from possessing firearms. Due to level-headedness and thorough work, our security professional helped to avert a potential threat.

During a shopping center patrol, a security supervisor discovered an unconscious man in a vehicle surrounded by drug paraphernalia. The supervisor attempted to communicate with the man but observed that the subject was slipping in and out of consciousness. A police officer arrived on scene to assist and instructed the man to step out of the vehicle. Upon doing so, the subject’s body went limp, and he fell to the ground. Realizing the man was likely overdosing, a security supervisor administered Narcan. After the man remained unresponsive, our security professional began chest compressions and performed chest compressions, reviving an unconscious man suffering from an overdose.

While on duty, gunshots erupted from a children’s entertainment store at a shopping mall. Without hesitation, our security professional rushed into the store to evacuate patrons and came to the aid of a gunshot victim inside the children’s entertainment venue. Drawing on his 30-plus years of EMS experience, the Allied Universal security professional provided life-saving aid to the victim and relayed crucial information to dispatch. The victim was later airlifted to a trauma center.

A security supervisor at a children’s hospital responded to a Trauma II call from the emergency department, which requires a security officer to report in case the medical staff needs assistance controlling a situation. When he arrived, the entire medical team was working to save the life of a hemorrhaging young patient. With no one else available, the security supervisor was asked to get blood from the lab, located one story below and on the opposite side of the hospital. The official report shows that the security professional made 10 round trips between the emergency department and the lab, all while nursing his own broken rib and finger. His heroic effort is now referred to as “The Run” - a run which ultimately saved the young patient’s life.

In Turkey, a security professional was on night patrol at a hospital when he noticed a trail of blood on the ground. Tracking the trail led him to an unconscious patient lying on the ground, covered in blood. He immediately reported the situation to a nurse, which prompted a medical team to attend to the patient who had removed their vascular access device. Our security professional’s keen sense of observation and quick action saved the patient’s life.
