IRVINE, Calif. – July 27, 2023 – The Columbus, Ohio branch of Allied Universal®, the world’s leading global security and facility services company, launched its first Project THERE volunteer event. Employees assisted the Near Northside Emergency Material Assistance Program (NNEMAP) food pantry at its first “A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District” function on July 14, 2023.

“This was a great opportunity for Allied Universal professionals to have a direct impact on the well-being of their neighbors and community overall,” said Brian Webber, Allied Universal president of the Midwest region. “Allied Universal’s Midwest region is proud to continue the Project THERE volunteer program in giving back to our local communities.”

The volunteer event began with a “giving drive” at the NNEMAP facility where members of the community had an opportunity to drop off donations of toiletries such as soap, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, razors, bath tissue and feminine hygiene products for locals in need. Following the “giving drive,” Allied Universal Columbus branch employees assisted with transporting and setting up tents, tables and chairs for the “A Taste of German Village and the Brewery District” community fundraiser. More than 13 local restaurants participated in the $100 per plate fundraiser. This event helped raise funds needed to support the operations of NNEMAP and its ability to supply services to the community.

In addition, more than 30 branch employees delivered non-perishable food items and hygiene products collected by the Allied Universal Ohio branch to the NNEMAP food bank.

By partnering with local organizations, Project THERE offers Allied Universal team members a chance to make a difference in the community in which they live and work.
