Allied Universal Champions Veterans with Support of ‘America’s Parade,’ the New York City Veterans Day Parade

New York, N.Y., November 10, 2016—Celebrating its rich legacy of support to our nation’s veterans, Allied Universal, a leading facility services company and the largest security force in North America with over 150,000 employees, has partnered with the United War Veterans Council (UWVC) and signed on as a sponsor of America’s Parade, the New York City Veterans Day Parade and the largest celebration of service in the nation. The parade, set for Veterans Day, Friday, November 11, takes place from 11:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., traveling up New York City’s iconic Fifth Avenue from 26th Street to 52nd Street.

The U.S. Coast Guard is the featured service of this year’s parade, which is dedicated to 9/11 first responders and to the veterans who have served the country since the 2001 tragedy. This year participants, including active military members, veterans of every U.S. war since World War II and marching bands from across the nation, will partake in the event, marking the 97th anniversary of the first Veterans Day Parade in 1919.

The parade will be broadcast live on WPIX-TV 11, from noon until 3 p.m. and live streamed on pix11.com and on military.com. More than 40,000 from over 30 states will participate in the event, which also will be broadcast to military bases around the world and Veterans Administration hospitals across the country.
