Q: Does Allied Universal provide security services at Maritime facilities?

A: Yes. Allied Universal is a world leader in Maritime Security. We provide security services for more than 20 Port Authorities in the United States, Cruise Ship Operators, Terminal Operators, Shippers, and Chem/Petro facilities subject to the Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA), and 33 CFR 105 Regulations as well as the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. We deploy more than 50,000 Security Professionals at Maritime Facilities in the United States, with Transportation Worker Identification Credentials (TWIC).

A: Allied Universal provides a wide array of services to the Maritime and Port Industry. We provide Unarmed and Armed security services, access and traffic control, vehicle & baggage inspections, screening services, terminal security, badging operations, and security operations center staffing. A: Yes. Allied Universal recognizes the unique nature of security programs in a maritime environment. As such, we developed our own US Coast Guard Approved Maritime Security Curriculum comprised of a wide variety of modules including MTSA/MARSEC regulations, Safety in a Maritime Environment, Transportation Worker Identification Credentials, Foreign Trade Zones, and many other related courses such as Access Control, Vehicle Inspections, Screening Techniques and Customer Service. 

We also invest in third party, certified Facility Security Officer certifications for our managers. This training provides US Coast Guard recognized FSO certification to our account teams and managers.

 

Q:  How do I know the security team are performing the duties we have established?

A:  At Allied Universal we can utilize our HELIAUS® Workforce Management tool as part of our security program.  The system utilizes GPS to track patrols and provide accountability, incident tracking for transparency, and utilizes artificial intelligence to alert the security team on hot spots for patrol adjustments.  Meanwhile all activity and reporting can be viewed at any time through the web-based portal. We have had significant success in customizing Heliaus to the Maritime environment, leveraging its capabilities to ensure compliance with regulations and reporting, resulting in reduction in US Coast Guard Notifications of Violation (NOVs) and other security related performance measures.
