Vice President, Talent Acquisition/Allied Universal®

Kelly Hunter joined Allied Universal in 2010 as a Corporate Sourcer at Allied Universal’s corporate headquarters (East) in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania.  She was promoted to Corporate Recruiter and later Talent Acquisition Director and currently serves as Vice President, Talent Acquisition.

“I was introduced to the company when I was working at a staffing agency in Philadelphia and was always impressed by the two security professionals working in my building – Jonathan and Dorothy from Allied Universal – who would light up my day with friendly smiles and greetings,” said Kelly. “Security professionals like Jonathan and Dorothy impact people’s lives on a daily basis by making us feel safe and secure.”

As the Vice President of Talent Acquisition, Kelly and her team partners across North America and Canada support and advise on talent selection and hiring initiatives. This includes the company’s ancillary branch leadership and sales positions. She also oversees three call center departments, senior leadership positions and the technology services division.

In addition to talent acquisition, Kelly leads the Recruiting Enablement team.  This important group is responsible for attracting quality applicants companywide through the creation and implementation of comprehensive recruiting solutions. By using effective data analysis, external trend reporting, sourcing strategies and vendor management, Allied Universal is able to hire over 120,000 candidates per year.

Allied Universal is striving to set the bar high in security industry in regards to hiring more women.

“We are dedicated to hiring, promoting and retaining confident women leaders with a growth mindset that can inspire change and promote diversity and inclusion initiatives,” said Kelly.

What is Kelly’s advice to potential candidates who have an interest in working in the security industry?

“Developing a passion for the security industry is critical so I would ask them to consider how the industry has impacted their life before joining the company,” says Kelly. “Once they join, I would advise them to continually ask questions, be inquisitive, listen, learn and then get ready to influence, collaborate and drive solutions.  Set an example by showing appreciation to our Security Professionals through every interaction.  Explore our internal resources and become a technology expert so that you are set up for success.”

Kelly holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing from Rowan University and is a member of The Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Talent Acquisition Leadership Keynotes (TALK).

“I have seen this company transform over the years and believe the best is yet to come,” said Kelly.
