Security officers smiling - National Security Officer Appreciation Week

Each day, Allied Universal Security Professionals help maintain safe and secure workplaces, schools, shopping malls and communities providing us with peace of mind. They have answered a call to public service that is demanding and often unappreciated. In order to recognize their commitment to our safety, Allied Universal announces the 5th Annual National Security Officer Appreciation Week September 15 – 21, 2019. During this week, we have an opportunity to thank them for their service and offer our respect.

On a daily basis, our Security Professionals from dispatcher, lobby ambassador to first responder, keep us safe by averting threats and responding to emergencies.

As a perfect example of the hard work and dedication they provide us each day, below is a story of one of our Allied Universal’s Security Professionals who saved a baby’s life.

(This story was published in the Employee Newsletter- Issue 2)

During his post at a County of LA facility, Allied Universal Security Professional Mathew Brice heard someone screaming for help. Responding quickly to the desperate cries for help, he discovered what is every parent’s worst nightmare—a child is not breathing and they are powerless to help.

Thanks to his vast Allied Universal training in emergency services, Mathew was the right person at the right time and was able to help. He radioed for help and began infant CPR/First Aid on the 7-month old baby.

Mathew was able to clear the baby’s airway and the baby resumed breathing on its own. About six minutes after Mathew’s call, emergency services arrived to the scene and transported the child and mother to a nearby hospital for further evaluation.

His quick and decisive actions are the perfect example of the kind of professionalism that we uphold at Allied Universal.
